We’re thrilled to kick off our member spotlight with Sandro Galindo! Sandro is a digital marketing guru, podcaster, and community event planner dedicated to supporting local small business in the Cleveland area. We’ve been lucky to have Sandro’s helpful presence around StartMart since February 2017.

Sandro found his way to the digital marketing world through his experience with the restaurant industry. After going to college at Baldwin Wallace and spending some time living in Prague, he was working nights at the Melting Pot in Legacy Village. Simultaneously, he was diving deep into the new, exciting waters of Twitter and quickly saw potential in the platform for promoting their restaurant.

“I told the Melting Pot owner about Twitter, and he said ‘run with it’” says Sandro. And from there, he certainly ran full speed ahead. Using creative strategies to connect with potential customers on Twitter, Sandro helped drive substantial business and foster a positive image for the restaurant. Of the 100+ Melting Pot Twitter pages in the world, theirs quickly became #1, drawing the attention of the restaurant’s corporate team and managers from across the country.

He continued reaching out to local restaurants that he liked, offering to build and support social media marketing strategies. Through his work, he gained a lot of experience with search engine optimization (SEO) which is his main focus today. He’s worked with over 12 small businesses in Cleveland and beyond.

He credits much of his interest in supporting small business to his father. As an immigrant from Mexico, his father overcame many barriers to own and run four small businesses in his lifetime. Seeing how hard his father worked to provide excellent customer service and support his family inspired him to pursue a similar path.

Today Sandro keeps busy running his own business offering search engine optimization services. He also hosts a podcast, Liz & Sandro’s Marketing Podcast with his friend and colleague Liz Hersh.

Beyond that, you might find Sandro storytelling at Happy Dog, organizing fundraisers like the SouperBowl CLE and NachoRita Fest, or supporting the arts community in Cleveland. He has certainly made his mark in our city, and we feel lucky to have him as a coworker here at StartMart!
